FEBRUARY COMPETITION TOP GUN - RULES What a weird and wonderful day to kick off the new year at Brisbane Gun Club. Today was our first monthly D.T.L. competition of 2012 and it was a blast! With a turnout of 48 shooters, we had 8 squads shooting and 3 traps, running fairly smoothly with a 3.45pm finish. The weather conditions were hot and humid, wind increasing in the afternoon and two annoying midmorning showers. The program was as follows: EVENT 1: 25 Target 'Cash Divide' Point Score EVENT 2: 50 Target Double Barrel EVENT 3: 25 Target Point Score EVENT 4: 15 Pair Double Rise And the results were… EVENT 1 EVENT 2 EVENT 3 EVENT 4 Overall High Gun went to Gavin Langridge, with a score of 225/230 'AA' Grade High Gun went to Shane Smith scoring 224/230 'A' Grade High Gun was Luke Langridge, shooting a score of 223/230 'B' Grade High Gun was won by David Hogan, shooting 215/230 'C' Grade High Gun went to Vaughan McInnis, scoring 204/230 Our Lucky Door Prize today (which is drawn at the start of the day, where all shooters with nominations submitted before 9.25am go in the draw to win back a shell for every target hit on the day. i.e. if you shoot a total score of 100/125 targets, you win back 100 cartridges!) was won by Bob McNamara, shooting a total of 109 targets of 130. Congratulations! The Jackpot of $500 today was up for grabs in the sweepstakes, $10 for every target hit, but needing to shoot all 20 targets to win the jackpot. Today, Stanley Kurkiewicz was drawn however first time jackpot nerves got the better of him and unfortunately dropped his first target. Better Luck next time! Stewart Thompson won the Meat Tray on offer today in our raffle, and Barry Wiseman took out second with a bottle of Jim Bean Small Batch! Congratulations to all of our winners today, and for those who did not win a medal or prise: well done today, there was a lot of red numbers out there and the day was well shot all across the board. A special thankyou goes out to all the people that helped out today and made the day run smoothly: Paul Vitt, Shane Smith and Sonny Joseph on the traps, The Kitchen Helpers, your work is much appreciated, as well as Paul Hill and Samantha Wilde in the office and Richard Wilde our Trap Captain. Another big thankyou goes out to all the volunteer Referees and Scorers who stepped in today to help, we are always needing more people to step up and take this role when possible so thank you for your time and effort to help.
